I've also realized that cupcakes aren't just cupcakes anymore. They aren't the easy-schmeasy slap some frosting on a dry little paper-wrapped cake. These are true works of art now, with beautiful pastel frosting swirled just so and then dipped in sugar crystals that make them sparkly and dainty. If I'm not mistaken, and BritGal Sarah will have to correct me if I'm wrong, the British call them Fairy Cakes. When you see cupcakes from places like Sprinkles Cupcakes in California, that is exactly what you think about! They are just beautiful and something that a fairy would surely eat.
Cupcakes have gotten so popular that now we even have carrying cases for our cupcakes. Perhaps you like something sturdy and truly protective. You might like this:

If you're not so much of a frosting fan, you could always go old-school with one of these:

Let me leave you with one final thought about cupcakes, and then I'll let you go grab a glass of milk to wash down all of that frosting.

I just LOVE cupcakes and yes Brits typically call them fairy cakes but the whole cupcake term is catching on more now!
I'm off to LA in October and I'll be hunting Sprinkles down!!

Yep, the Brits call them fairy cakes.
I know, wherever you look there are cupcakes. Why, I even bought myself a little cake decorating bag with a 32 tip to put the frosting on like all the cool moms do. I didn't want to take cupcakes to church cofee/desserts anymore without spicing things up a bit.
Blessings,

Victoria - Hope you do a report on your blog about your trip to LA - and Sprinkles!
Sher - I bet your cupcakes are now the highlight of church suppers!
