Even though I missed most of Cookie Week, I did see a few commercials. One in particular featured this extraordinary "cookie" called the Brown Butter Toffee Blondies. Browned butter? Toffee? I knew I HAD to find the recipe. Thankfully, Martha expected me to be drooling just at the site of this wondrous baked item and she kindly shared the recipe on her website.
I made the cookie today. OH! MY! GOODNESS! This treat is entirely worth the 2 1/2 sticks of butter that are in it. It is divine. I can't wait to try it with a big tall glass of ice cold milk. It's just a good thing there are 3 other people to share them with me so that I don't end up gaining 20 pounds just from 1 batch of these. If you'd like to try making this super-easy cookie yourself, you can find it here. Now, let the drooling commence.

Well I missed Cookie Week too (but then I never watch Martha these days). I'll have to check her website to see what she did. Those do look delicious!
Manuela
Love your new banner Karla Grace. Just perfectly elegant!!
I missed the cookie week too. I'll tell you, these days I don't need to bake and eat these things. . . I can just look at them and they attach themselves to my back side!!
Blessings,
Sher
Manuela - They really are delicious!
Sher - I know just what you mean and I realized I've had too many of these kinds of things lately. My weight has gone up and it's time to do something about it! Oh but I hate restraint!
As the natives hereabouts say, those look scrummy!
Ali - They really are yummy. So lovely with a cup of tea!
Well they look yummie!!! I'm so gutted we don't get Martha's show over in the UK!
I must ask, how do you measure "sticks" butter? Measuring butter in American cup sizes is so hard and I know it mentions stick but not sure how they would equate?
Victoria
Victoria - Here in the U.S., our butter comes in a 1 lb. package. The package is divided up into 4 "sticks" each individually wrapped in a waxy paper. Each stick equals 1/2 cup and most are marked with tablespoon measurements so you know where to cut the stick if you need 1 or 2 tablespoons or 1/4 cup or on like that. So 2 1/2 sticks of butter is equal to 1 1/4 cups of butter.
Victoria - the gram weight of each stick is 113 grams. So you would need to use 282.5 grams of butter in this recipe.
Karla! What are you trying to do my Weightwatchers resolve my friend. These look soooo good and god only knows how many points are in them....LOL!
