I Did It!

Remember the other day when I was talking about crocheted towel holders? I mentioned that I like keeping a hand towel on the handle of my stove, but it often falls of. When I saw crocheted towel holders on Etsy.com I was very tempted, since they were really cheap. Then I remembered that I had a few skeins of yarn, some crochet hooks and the internet to look for free patterns. I found a pattern that I thought I could follow and last night I tackled it. I'm still very much a beginner crocheter (or should that be crochetist?), so mine is not all that pretty or precise, and I used a large keyring I had laying around rather than a plastic ring. This was basically a trial run to see if I could do it. I'm missed a stitch at the beginning, resulting in a hole that I didn't see until I was done, and then added an extra stitch to the end somehow resulting in an uneven spacing on the button hole. I'm going to see if I can find a larger ring. You see, the ring is just a little too small so when you put a towel through it, it won't go all the way through and makes the yarn twist up since it's on metal. But you know what? I did it, all by myself.

Rapunzel - They would make great little gifts wouldn't they? Let's see - your kitchen is done in red, right? Or am I totally off there?

Hope you crochet something soon, and show us all what you've done!
