Most of us have been putting makeup on since junior high, some of us better than others, so why do we need another book about makeup? Because we all could use a refresher course once in awhile, whether it's because we're still wearing the same make-up we did in high school, or because we just want to keep looking as young as possible. The 5 Minute Face (The Quick and Easy Makeup Guide For Every Woman) by Carmindy, from TLC's What Not To Wear, is a really great resource for any woman's bookshelf. I found the layout to be easy reading, the tips just wonderful and the photos helpful, crisp and tastefully done. Since finishing this book the day before yesterday, I've been using Carmindy's 5 Minute Face techniques and I can see a difference. I look fresher, my face looks more vibrant and I feel more confident about the way my makeup looks.
Throughout the book, she covers the basics of skincare, makeup application, and getting a great look for different seasons of your life, as well as different skin and hair tones. But my favorite part of the entire book is the Product Recommendation chapter at the very end. She recommends products, one expensive and one affordable, for different needs and different looks. This book would be a really great gift, perhaps accompanied by a gift certificate to a beauty store like Ulta or Sephora, for a teen-aged girl.
Also, visit Carmindy's website for more great tips!

Thanks , for stopping by this morning. I found out about my blog problem when I googled my blog name and the site came up. I think Junie, used a different search for her's.
Have a happy day :)

Crystal - it is a wonderful book. Also, thanks for the tip about finding the bogus blog. I searched mine and didn't find anything erroneous - thankfully!
I totally want that book! I've seen her on tv and she's great.
Amy - I am currently borrowing it from the library. I have a 25% off coupon for Borders eating a hole in my pocket. Stopped by there this afternoon but realized I can get it cheaper on Amazon than I do even with my coupon - and if I get another book with it, I get free shipping. But for now, I'm being a good girl and not buying a thing!
